  1. What is the suggested use for this product?

For our Brazilian Coffee or Decaf Peruvian blend, we recommend a 1:16 brew ratio, using two (2) Tbsp. of freshly ground coffee per 6 fl. oz. of filtered water.

Match the proper grind coarseness to your chosen brewing method:

    • Drip – Medium
    • Pour Over – Medium Coarse
    • French Press – Coarse
  2. What does ‘Biodynamic®’ mean?

Think organic but better. Farms that earn Demeter Certified Biodynamic®, the world’s oldest ecological certification, use regenerative, soil-first practices to meet the highest standards in agriculture. Every certified farm is a self-contained, self-sustaining ecosystem that follows the cycles of nature through century-old methods – like plant diversity, cover crops, livestock integration, low-till practices as well as complete removal of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. As a result, farmers improve the health of their land and quality of our food while cultivating a stronger planet.

  3. There are a few other biodynamic coffees available out there. What makes Solspring® Dark Roast Brazilian Coffee better?

Our coffee options are sourced from one of the pioneers in Biodynamic® coffee cultivation and production. This exclusive partner selects plantations where coffee is planted within a forest (regenerative agroforestry agriculture), harvests the coffee beans by hand, and nurtures local relationships with family-owned farms and cooperatives.

  4. How is the integrity of the coffee ensured?

Each of our Biodynamic® coffee products are traceable back to the workers who produced it. The coffee is also tested in a third-party microbiological lab for contaminants, such as mold, mycotoxins (including Ochratoxin A) and heavy metals, as well as other biological contaminants.

  5. Where are your decaf coffee beans from?

Our Organic Decaf Dark Roast Peruvian Coffee comes from coffee farms located in the lush, mountainous Cajamarca region of Peru’s northern highlands, where the farmers work to conserve and protect the land against encroaching mining operations. With its fertile soil, high altitudes and a temperate climate, the region is ideal for producing high-quality organic coffee beans.

  6. What process do you use to decaffeinate your Peruvian coffee beans?

Our partner employs the Swiss Water® Process for decaffeination. This process employs only water, time and gentle heat to extract the caffeine from the coffee beans, so you can enjoy them without worrying about exposure to chemical contaminants common in many decaf coffees.
